REFINING
Refining precious metals such as scrap gold and silver, scrap jewelry, or even higher grade gold doré requires a process that eliminates unwanted materials and purifies the output, separating valuable gold from other “waste” materials. This task, which plays a pivotal role in the production of investment grade gold and silver bars, is the responsibility of the Refinery.
ASSAYING
The responsibilities of our laboratory are gold assaying, metal analysis, and research and development (R&D). Assaying monitors the quality of the metal throughout the refining process, determining the fineness of gold and silver. Emirates Gold’s assaying technology includes traditional fire assay as well as spectrometry.
SMELTING
Our smelting department plays an important role in the manufacturing process by either melting fine metal into bars or producing grains from scrap metal for the use of our refinery. Smelting is a critical step in almost all of the services offered by Emirates Gold so this department is central to our daily operations.
BULLION TRADING
Emirates Gold also produces a wide range of gold bullion bars which are refined up to 999.9, with the purities matching the demand from the market. All bars are subjected to accurate and precise inspections and weighing before they are packaged and dispatched.
MINTING COINS & BARS
To complement refining and smelting, Emirates Gold also engages in its own die making. The Die Making & Minting division is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and uses cutting-edge technology to produce coins, medals, or other customized products. Emirates Gold offers a wide variety of designs and shapes with an extensive collection of decorative motifs.
PRECIOUS STONES SEPARATION
Our technique of separating diamonds and precious stones from gold and silver in finished jewelry provides our clients with a cost-effective way of recycling old jewelry and stock items. Painstaking attention and care is needed to pick each stone after we are able to soften the metal. This is done by a handful of experienced and very patient chemists.
